1. It is close but McMurphy is winning his rivalry with the Big Nurse. A main reason for his position is because he made Nurse Ratchet lose control of the acutes. When McMurphy convinced the acutes to just sit in front of the television screen, Nurse Ratchet loses her composure.
2. The Chief is still observant but I do not feel as if he is still a reliable narrator. Signs of his mental illness are starting to show easier now. McMurphy has made the Chief more hopeful. I think this because Chief is starting to attend group therapies. One example is that when McMurphy needed another vote for majority, Chief voted for him. As a result of McMurphy, I think Chief's personality may be changing,
3. I am rooting for McMurphy because he stands up against the Big Nurse and brings some personality and excitement to this book. Standing up to the Big Nurse also indirectly helps the other patients.
